Uploading Images & Files
Dokyo lets you upload images and files directly into pages, up to 20 MB each and 100 MB per account by default. Uploads are stored on encrypted volumes in Europe, and images can be compressed in your browser before they are sent.
You can attach images and files directly to your Dokyo pages. Uploaded files become part of your workspace and follow the same privacy rules as the rest of your content.
Uploading files
- Use the slash command to insert an image or file block.
- Drag and drop a file directly onto the page.
- Paste an image from your clipboard.
Storage and limits
Files are stored on encrypted volumes hosted in the European Union. Each account has a storage allowance — 100 MB on dokyo.app — shared across all the workspaces you upload to, and individual files are capped at 20 MB. Open Files in the sidebar to see how much you have used, browse everything you have uploaded, and delete what you no longer need.
Image compression
Dokyo can shrink images before they leave your device. Pick a preset in Settings → Preferences — high, medium, or low quality, or off — and JPEG, PNG, and WebP uploads are resized and re-encoded in your browser; GIF and SVG are never touched. The compression happens entirely locally, so nothing is sent to the server until it is done. Lower presets mean smaller files, faster page loads, and more room in your allowance.
Access and security
Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, and only you can list or delete the files you uploaded. A file itself is served from a URL containing a long random identifier, which acts as the key to it: that is what lets an image render inline in a page and in an exported PDF.
The practical consequence is worth knowing: a file URL is unlisted, not private. Nobody can guess or enumerate it, but anyone you send it to can open it without signing in. Treat file links the way you would treat an unlisted share link.
